Does anyone know of a really good mechanic that can get a Tiger Cub 1961 with newly fitted Boyer Bransden kit, going reliably. I have had it in the hands of Andy Spry but he has let me down big time. I cannot even get him toreturn keys and books. Is he a fraud?

I read with a mix of interest and nostalgia your story on the Hagon JAP drag bike. As reported, FastEddie Castle bought the bike from Alf and began racing it in Australia in 1970 with Col Moon wielding the spanners. Ed resided in the small Queensland town of Maryborough for a couple of years around 1971/72. It was here in my home town that I became acquainted with both Eddie and the Hagon JAP. The absolute cacophony of metal and exhaust when it fired into life on rollers driven by Eds Ford Fairlane had to heard to be believed. Im sure his shattered neighbours heaved a collective sigh of relief when Ed moved away. It is great to know that the Mighty Hagon JAP is back in Alf and Martins care as it nears its 50th birthday. Fast Eddie Castle is alive and well and resides in the Queensland town of Childers, just north of Maryborough these days.

Loved your Honda CB125 gallery. I am a female, just started riding and bought my first bike, a great find, a 1978 Honda CB125s, original owner it has only 1400 miles on it and has always been garaged. Wont take much to restore and it rides really smooth. I love it. Starts up first kick even when cold.

Met Alf and Martin many years ago at speedway with Bill Street who introduced me to them. I was just a snotty-nosed kid but the Hagons shared with me our mutual interest in motorbikes and especially speedway. Youd have thought I was someone special the way they showed interest with what I was riding and my enthusiasm in racing. Lovely people with an endless passion and an incredible talent not only for racing but with design and technology in engineering. Total respect fellas! Jon........

Hi A friend of mine has a Kawasaki 650 CSR 1981.it is immaculate, done 27000 miles, I was helping him clear his workshop out and found this bike covered with Duck oil. He said it had been there for Nine years when he was unable to ride it due to a severe illness. Well I have tried ti find another one, and believe they are rare, anyone out there heard of them. he also has a squire sidecar which is in primer. What is it all worth I am thinking about buying it off him but want to make sure the price is fair for both of us. I have pictures but don,t know how to down load them

I completed the request a quote form for insurance for my 1960 Triumph Tiger. I got no offers because I have not taken the CBT. As I got my full bike licence in 1975 together with my full car driver licence I am not required to take the CBT. Perhaps your system could take account of this option rather than the current yes or no choice. Regards Stephen

I had a rd 200 just like yr test model I took mine to yes--- South of France (Cannes ) it took 2 days down all on the autoroute ,,on the way back i went back to north London in 1 day ,,the bike preformed fantasticly,,I never missed a beat, I crused at a steady 70/75 all the way and I know its sound ridiculous 95mph was seen if not totally accurate. The biggest annoyance was filling up as the tank was limited ,however the 2 stroke oil lasted for ever. The riide was ok you had shuffle a lot on the seat plus backache ,this bike wasn designed for such long journeys. That said going around european at a less intensive pace the yam 200 can easily cope its the smallest bige bike you can get, you can ride safely with the boys with fazers and keep up . Im now 56 looking for one again Ian

Wow! What a blast from the past!! I had the exact same forest-green 74 DT360 20+ yrs ago when I was just a young kid in high-school. I bought it one summer for $200 bucks off sum guy selling it to make room in his garage. It was missing the turn-signals & had dirt-knobbys on it, but it ran like a bear!! Me & my buddies beat that thing all over the place for about 3 yrs mercilessly before the tranny gave out. What a beast! Id take another one in a second just to have it!! Seeing that picture brought back many fond memories along with a tear or two... They just don build em like that any more.

Are any racers on this blog from the late 1940s to early 1950s era? My father Earl Givens from Akron OHIO raced the east coast for both Indian and Harley factories. His modified 1949 sport scout was restored and sold on e-bay a few years ago. I heard the museum was destroyed and was being re-built. Any information on these riders and bikes would be great!

I was looking through your gallery at all the splendid machines and I wondered if you might like to include a pic of my Kawasaki Z650 B1? I have had this, 1 previous owner motorcyle since 1989 and like most bikers with great intentions I have barely managed annual trips to the MOT station, a few exhillerating miles and the back to the my garage again. So much so that it has covered only 5000 miles from new. One day huh?
